In Praise of Iowa City
Today we highlight Iowa City, which took first place in the smallest cities division of our Employment Destinations Index.
Iowa City straddles the two sides of the Iowa River, boasting the most highly educated population of all the regions in our study. The University of Iowa is home to good art and natural history museums, as well as a thriving nightlife. Rents are relatively expensive here, but Iowa City features low unemployment and favorable market conditions.
