Student Conferences

Harwood Graduate Colloquia are three-day events intended for graduate students that consist of a combination of interactive discussions and provocative lectures based on pre-assigned readings. Participants are given ample time to interact with each other and prominent scholars.

Our goal is to encourage promising graduate students to push the frontiers in their understanding of governance institutions, forge new research collaborations, and network with their peers and established scholars from this field.

AIER covers travel costs for the colloquia. All meals and accommodations are provided.

Topics vary by year and may include: Alternative Governance, Monetary Policy, Economic Freedom, The Business Cycle, Economic Methodology, and Property Rights.

Applications are welcome throughout the year and are reviewed on a rolling basis. Invitations are typically sent to selected applicants two weeks after the application due date.
