Writing in The Huffington Post, AIER President Stephen Adams applauds Intel’s efforts to increase the number of women and minorities in its workforce. In the piece, which was published on Tuesday, Adams notes AIER’s report last year that stated only 25 percent of skilled workers in the computer tech workforce were women. He talks about Intel President Brian Krzanich’s $300 million effort to increase science and technology education and careers among girls and women, ranging from grade school through college.

Adams writes: “Rather than simply wait for government to solve its workforce needs with more H1B visas, Intel is investing business dollars into making labor markets in the U.S. more efficient, and expanding the pool of workers available to them. That is both good business and good economics.”
