AIER Summer Fellowship Program

In 2012, AIER will once again offer its Summer Fellowship Program. Since 1946, this program has provided direct training and financial support to students pursuing graduate degrees in economics.

What is the Program?

The two-week program takes place at our beautiful 110-acre campus in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts.
Students participate in three core seminars:

• The Evolution of Property Rights
• Sound Money
• Scientific Procedures of Inquiry

In addition, visiting scholars present lectures on a variety of economic topics.

During their two-week residence, students receive room and board plus a stipend; which was $500 in 2011.

Those who successfully complete the program are invited to apply for the E.C. Harwood Fellowship, an award that provides financial assistance for the following academic year. Awards have averaged between $1,250 and $2,500 per student in recent years.

When Is It?

The program will be offered twice in 2012:

• Session 1: June 11–22
• Session 2: July 16–27

Who is Eligible?

Gratuate students who are enrolled in a doctoral program in economics or an approved related field such as law and economics or financial history; or graduating college seniors who plan to be enrolled in such a program.

What is the Deadline for Applying?

Applications must be received by March 23, 2012
