Sam Blackman is a Director at UBS Asset Management working in global macro research and data science. Additionally, he is an entrepreneur building a mens’ activewear brand using 100% non-synthetic materials. He was previously on the global macro strategy desk at UBS Securities and before that at Cornerstone Macro and Bloomberg. He holds a BA in international political economy with a Russian concentration from George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs. He is a reformed Leftist after discovering in 2015 the works of the Austrian School through Mark Spitznagel’s “Dao of Capital” and its frequent citation of Ludwig von Mises and Austrian Business Cycle Theory. He grew up in a classic Maine beach town and now lives in Manhattan, NY.
