#6 Champaign-Urbana, IL

A large population of foreign students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign helps the city rank number two for student diversity. With more than 44,000 students, the university is a small, captivating city in itself. Located on a sprawling campus that spans Champaign and Urbana, the university has a number of cultural venues, while just outside Champaign and Urbana lie endless acres of straight, deserted roads that are great for bicycling. In the fall, students sometimes visit the nearby Curtis Orchard to pick pumpkins and apples and feast on cider donuts.
