William Shughart II

William F. Shughart II is the J. Fish Smith Professor in Public Choice at Utah State University, Research Director and Senior Fellow at The Independent Institute, President of the Public Choice Society (2020-2022), and past President of the Southern Economic Association. He also worked as a former economist at the Federal Trade Commission, and taught at George Mason University, Clemson University, University of Mississippi, and the University of Arizona. Professor Shughart is editor-in-chief of Public Choice. Dr. Shughart earned his Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. in Economics from Texas A & M University.
