Santiago Fernández-Ordóñez is the Dean of the School of Political Studies and International Relations at Universidad Francisco Marroquín (UFM). He is an associate board member for UFM’s Center for Analysis of Public Decisions (CADEP) and the Fe y Libertad Institute. Santiago has specialized in security and defense studies at the National Defense University and the London School of Economics. 

Santiago’s academic interests include the science of human action, game theory, and public choice theory. He leads a research project applying the Bloomington School and Public Choice theories to case studies of indigenism, water, and forest governance in rural Guatemala.
