Daniel Serralde

Daniel Serralde joined AIER in 2018. In addition to directing the AIER Teaching Free Enterprise program, he is the Economic Education Program Coordinator at the William J. O’Neil for Global Markets and Freedom at SMU's Cox School of Business.

He was born in Mexico City, Mexico. He was raised in the Tijuana / San Diego border region where he learned from an early age about the value and prosperity that occurs with trade in free economies and open markets in a transnational setting. He earned his Bachelor degree in International Development Studies at Point Loma Nazarene University and did advanced studies at the Institute for Economic and Political Studies, Cambridge and at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. He later earned his MEd in Educational Leadership at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.

A strong advocate for democracy and economic liberalization in developing countries, he has participated as a speaker in multiple panels and conferences in Latin America and has been an active part in establishing training centers for the advancement of the political, democratic and policy process in Mexico and El Salvador. He taught at an inner city high school in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, where he experienced firsthand the need that the community has for learning and practicing the principles of free markets and small government to reach the American dream.
