Lexington, Ky.

< BACK to CDI TOOL
Once the wealthiest and most cultured city west of the Allegheny Mountains, Lexington was then dubbed “the Athens of the West.” The home turf of the University of Kentucky earns its 13th spot with a large number of arts and entertainment venues. While pretty, the downtown area is small, and most of the entertainment takes place outside the city center. That makes this metro area fairly car dependent. Students will be sure to sip their mint juleps and head over to Louisville to Churchill Downs each May for the famous Kentucky Derby.
