Since 1946, the Fellowship Program has provided unique training and financial support to distinguished students pursuing graduate degrees in economics and related fields. Students take courses on property rights, scientific procedures of inquiry and sound money—fundamental subjects typically ignored in mainstream education.
2008’s program was another great success. We hosted 18 students and thirteen visiting scholars. In addition to the five rigorous core courses, visiting scholars and ten guest speakers provided more than 20 presentations during the two four-week sessions.
Solutions to the Nation’s economic problems probably will not come from mainstream academia. Unfortunately, most educators endorse government intervention as a panacea for economic difficulties. We provide intensive training in free-market economics that students cannot get in most “megaversity” graduate programs.
Our value derives from our independence. We do not accept sponsorships from private foundations, commercial interests, or the government. We depend solely on continued support from individual donors like you, who understand the importance of the independent economic perspective we offer.
Please consider for a moment how different AIER’s use of your fellowship contribution dollar is. Some charities spend as little as 10 cents of each dollar on their good works. In contrast, every dollar that you contribute to AIER’s Fellowship program goes directly to the students and scholars.
As we mark our 75th Anniversary, AIER remains committed to introducing sound economic thinking to the next generation of leaders. Please join me in supporting this important program by making a contribution. Donate to the Summer Fellowship Program
