Since 1946, the Fellowship Program has provided unique training and financial support to distinguished students pursuing graduate degrees in economics and related fields. Students take courses on property rights, scientific procedures of inquiry and sound money—fundamental subjects typically ignored in mainstream education.
The summer 2010 program was another great success. We hosted 17 new students, three returning students and seven visiting scholars. The curriculum featured three core courses. In addition, guest speakers and visiting research scholars presented 11 seminars during the two 2-week sessions.
Solutions to the Nation’s economic problems probably will not come from mainstream academia. Unfortunately, most educators endorse government intervention as a panacea for economic difficulties. We provide intensive training in free-market economics that students cannot get in most “megaversity” graduate programs.
Our value derives from our independence. We do not accept sponsorships from private foundations, commercial interests, or the government. We depend solely on continued support from individual donors like you, who understand the importance of the independent economic perspective we offer.
Please consider for a moment how different AIER’s use of your fellowship contribution dollar is. Some charities spend as little as 10 cents of each dollar on their good works. In contrast, every dollar that you contribute to AIER’s Fellowship program goes directly to the students and scholars. Summer Fellowship Program dates for 2011: Session 1: June 13 – 24; Session 2: July 13 – 26
Since 1933 AIER has been committed to introducing sound economic thinking to the next generation of leaders. Please join me in supporting this important program by making a contribution.
