Deadline for applications: March 23, 2012
Please submit the following
- Completed application form
- Vita/Resumé.
Include your education history Detail any experience in business, the armed forces, teaching, and research List and describe any honors, awards, or financial assistance you received List and describe any relevant leadership positions you have held
- Personal statement
Explain what books (or articles) have influenced your thinking and why (The books need not be about economics) Please do not exceed 750 words
- Writing sample
Recent term paper or some other example of your best English composition An economic topic is useful but not required If you have an advanced degree, please send a copy of your thesis, which will be returned upon request
- Outline of proposed course of study at graduate school
Tell us when and where you plan to attend graduate school Indicate your preliminary field(s) of interest Indicate what you plan to do when your formal education is complete If some details are not yet decided, please tell us
- Official transcripts
Send official transcript(s) of all college and graduate work
- Academic references
Arrange to have two academic references mailed directly to the Director of the Summer Fellowship program by the referees. (Letters of recommendation sent by the applicants themselves will not be accepted.) References should give the writer’s opinion of your aptitude for learning and research, emotional and intellectual maturity, potential for communicating and disseminating economic knowledge, and such other information as the writer is in a position to provide
