Founded in 1933, American Institute for Economic Research (www.aier.org) is a qualified public charity with 501(c)(3) status under the IRS Code. Its mission is to be a widely recognized authoritative independent source of economic information, stemming from its proprietary research and publications.

The Institute, along with its wholly-owned investment advisory, is located on a beautiful 100-plus acre campus in the southern Berkshires of Western Massachusetts.

Utilizing individual and foundation solicitations, membership and events, the DOD will oversee, plan and execute all development and outreach activities and operations in an effort to increase revenue, build relationships with new and existing supporters, and promote goodwill and public awareness of AIER.

The Director of Research and Education (DRE) is responsible for the research and educational activities of the Institute. The DRE recruits and leads a team of researchers with the goal of providing the average person with information, analysis, and guidance that will help with common but sometimes complex economic issues and provide commentary on the likely future consequences of current developments and policies. The DRE also directs the design and implementation of related educational programs. The Director of Research and Education is responsible to the President.
